Overview

Free YouTube Downloader is a free online YouTube downloader. You paste a video link, the site looks the video up and shows you the available MP4 and MP3 qualities, and the file you choose opens in a new browser tab straight from YouTube's own video servers.

Because of how the tool works, we do not need your name, your email address or an account to give you a download. The little information that does pass through the site is described below, along with the services that help us run it. This policy applies to every page of the site, including the downloader, the MP3 and MP4 pages, and the contact form.

What we do not collect

Some things are simply not part of how the site works, so we never have them in the first place:

• No account or sign-up: there is no login, no profile and no password to remember.
• No stored files: the site does not host, copy or keep any video or audio. Files come directly from YouTube's servers to your browser.
• No download history: we do not keep a list of which videos you looked up or which qualities you saved.
• No payment details: the tool is free, so we never ask for card or bank information.

The video link you paste

When you paste a YouTube link and tap the button, the link is sent to look up that one video so the site can show its title, length and the list of qualities. That lookup happens live, for your request only.

The link is used once for that purpose and is not saved afterward. We do not attach it to your identity, and we do not build any record of the videos people search for. If you reload the page or come back later, the site starts fresh and has no memory of what you pasted before.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, ours is served through a hosting provider. We use Cloudflare for hosting and security. When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare processes standard technical information that any web connection involves.

This information is used to protect the site against abuse and attacks, to deliver pages quickly, and to keep the service working properly. We do not use it to identify you personally or to follow you across other websites.

• Your IP address
• Your browser type and operating system
• The date and time of the request
• The page requested and basic connection details

Google Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand, in general terms, how the site is used: for example, how many visits a page receives, which pages are opened most, and what kinds of devices people use. These statistics are anonymous and help us improve the pages. Google Analytics relies on cookies, which are small text files stored in your browser.

You stay in control of cookies. You can refuse or block them in your browser settings, delete cookies that are already stored, or browse in a private window so they are cleared when you close it. Blocking analytics cookies does not stop the downloader from working.

Google also offers a free browser add-on that prevents Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits on any website. You can find it by searching for the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Messages sent through the contact form

If you write to us through the Contact page, we receive what you type, along with the name and reply address you choose to give. We use this only to read and answer your message.

We do not add your address to mailing lists, send newsletters, or sell or share your message with advertisers. Please avoid including sensitive personal details that are not needed for your question.

Third-party services

A few outside services play a part in how the site works. Each one has its own privacy policy, which applies to the information it handles.

• YouTube and Google: YouTube is the source of every video and audio file. When you tap a quality, your browser connects directly to YouTube's servers to fetch the file, so YouTube can see that request, as it would when you watch a video.
• Cloudflare: provides hosting and security, and processes the technical connection information described above.
• Google Analytics: provides anonymous visit statistics using cookies.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal details through the contact form, please let us know through the Contact page and we will delete that information.

Data security

The safest data is data that is never collected, which is why the site keeps so little. Pages are delivered over an encrypted connection, and Cloudflare helps protect the site against common attacks.

No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. What we can say is that we do not store your pasted links, your files or a history of your downloads, so there is very little that could ever be exposed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. We are happy to respect them for everyone who asks.

• Access: ask what personal information we hold about you, if any.
• Correction: ask us to fix information that is wrong.
• Deletion: ask us to delete information, such as a message you sent us.
• Objection: object to how your information is used, or ask us to limit it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the site changes, if we start or stop using a service, or if the law requires it. When that happens, the updated version will be posted on this page. We encourage you to check back from time to time. Continuing to use the site after a change means the updated policy applies.

To use any of the rights listed above, simply send a request through the Contact page and tell us what you need. Because we do not keep accounts or download records, in most cases the only information we could hold about you is a message you sent us.
