Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 25, 2026

These terms explain, in plain words, how you may use Free YouTube Downloader and what you can and cannot expect from it. Please take a few minutes to read them before you save any video or audio.

Acceptance of these terms

By opening this site or using the downloader, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

You do not need an account to accept them. Simply using the site counts as acceptance, and the version shown on this page is the one that applies at the time of your visit.

What the service does

Free YouTube Downloader is a free online YouTube downloader that works in your browser. You paste a link to a YouTube video, and the tool looks up that video live and shows its title, length and the available qualities.

You can choose an MP4 video file from 144p up to 1080p, or an MP3 audio file at 64, 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps. Tapping a quality opens the file in a new browser tab, served directly from YouTube's video servers. We do not host, copy or store the files ourselves, and we keep no download history.

Personal, non-commercial use

The service is meant for individuals saving videos or audio for their own private use, such as watching offline or listening on a commute.

You may not use the site, or files obtained through it, as part of a business, a paid product or any other commercial activity unless the owner of the content has clearly allowed that use.

Copyright and your responsibility

You alone are responsible for what you choose to save. Only download content that you have the right to keep. That generally means one of the following:

You are also expected to respect YouTube's own terms of service. Whether a download is allowed depends on the video, its owner and the law where you live, and it is your responsibility to check before saving anything.

  • Videos you created or own yourself
  • Works that are in the public domain
  • Content released under a licence that permits downloading, such as some Creative Commons licences
  • Videos whose owner has given you permission to save them

Things you must not do

To keep the service working fairly for everyone, you agree not to misuse it. In particular, you must not:

  • Use bots, scripts or other automated tools to send large numbers of requests
  • Try to overload, disrupt, probe or break into the site or the systems it relies on
  • Use the service to break any law or to infringe anyone's copyright or other rights
  • Resell, rent out or charge others for access to the service or to files obtained through it
  • Copy or frame the site in a way that suggests it belongs to someone else

No affiliation with YouTube or Google

Free YouTube Downloader is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google, and the name is used here only to describe what the tool works with.

Third-party content

Every video and audio track you can reach through this site belongs to its creator or rights holder, not to us. We do not check, edit or approve that content and are not responsible for what it contains.

The site also relies on outside services, including Cloudflare for hosting and security and Google Analytics for anonymous visit statistics. Their own terms and policies apply to the parts they handle. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

Our own content and design

The text, layout, design and code of this site belong to Free YouTube Downloader. You are welcome to use the site as intended, but you may not copy, republish or reuse these parts without permission. This does not cover the YouTube videos themselves, which remain the property of their owners.

No warranty

The service is provided as it is and as available. We work to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise that it will always run without errors or interruptions.

Some videos may simply not work. Private, age-restricted, members-only, removed or region-blocked videos may fail, live streams that are still running cannot be saved, and a playlist link only gives you the single video it points to. YouTube can also change how its videos are delivered at any time, which may affect what the tool can show.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using or being unable to use the site. This includes problems with downloaded files, lost data, or any consequences of saving content you did not have the right to save.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded under the law of your country.

Changes and availability of the service

We may change, pause or stop any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. Features such as the available qualities or supported link types may be adjusted as things change on YouTube's side. We may also restrict access for anyone who breaks these terms or misuses the site.

Copyright complaints

We respect the rights of creators. If you believe the service is being used in a way that infringes your copyright, please send us the details through the Contact page.

Helpful details include your name, the work you own, the link to the video concerned and a short explanation of the problem. We review every complaint and act quickly. Because we store no files, the most effective step is often also to contact YouTube about the original upload.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the service changes or the law requires it. The updated version will be posted on this page and applies from the moment it appears. If you keep using the site after a change, that means you accept the new terms.

If you have a question about these terms or need to report a problem, please reach us through the Contact page and we will get back to you.
